The museum in “Madara” national reserve, which was closed, because of collapse danger welcomes visitors again. The reconstructed building at the foot of the Madarski Konnik ( The Rider of Madara), was officially opened at the International Museums Day.
The exponents in the new exhibition hall describe Madara as a religious centre from ancient times, the director of the Regional Historical Museum in Shumen- Dechko Lechev said.
The Madara museum has a collection of over 500 original materials, found at the time of the archaeological excavations, that has been done for 100 years in the region.
Amongst the extremely valuable exponents are: the unique stone zodiac , which according to professionals doesn't have an analogue in the world's history, also a decorative plastic with images of the Thracian god Heros and ceramic slab stones.
